The 1948 Cadillac was named the "Eldorod," it was the first car designed by Foose for Boyd Coddington's hot-rod business. The striking example of post-war luxury wears a custom shade of deep blue from BASF, and the car was a highlight of the paint company's stand at SEMA.

It features bumpers from a 1956 Chevrolet Nomad and the grille opening of a mid-'50s Oldsmobile. The fenders, window lines and hood were reshaped. The convertible top, elegant in a soft white, was reskinned in Mercedes canvas.

Initially, some of the more elaborate cues were left out of the Eldorod in an effort to deliver it on time to the client.

you might not like the over the top mix of styles, stripes, and colors, but I think even the haters might find the effort worth applause. I like it all, and the desicion to go all the way and have flames, lace, pinstriping, lettering, panel paint, and a full color spectrum. Bravo!
