Because he was the photographer for Hot Rod Magazine, Rickmann worked with the best in the business. He was connected to everyone, and occasionally when the hot new part needed to be installed on something, well, the Corvette was available to fit the new intake, carbs, exhaust...

Notice the carbs sticking through the hood, side pipes... it got the coolest stuff added on. He didn't garage it, left the top down 365, and withing a couple years it was sold off. The new owner didn't have it long before a wiring short burnt it down. Blamed Rickmann for the shoddy wiring, backyard rigged work... but the car was a wreck and used up.

Ummm, good sense of humor? No, commentors Fred and TouringBubble said this was a factory transmission, VW automatic stickshift, when you pushed down on the shift lever the clutch engaged, you still had to shift, just without the foot clutch

Paul Sylva's roadster, painted and striped by Von Dutch, with Ardun heads, just was featured in the Winter 2011 issue of Traditional Rod and Kulture Illustrated, and sold at auction

Run at Bonneville in 53 and 53, and drag raced at San Gabriel, it was held onto by Don Ferguson for 40 years, until Aug 2011 RM Auction in Monterey.
